About this Learning Activity
LTSS 101: Foundations – Core Concepts and Readiness
LTSS 101: Foundations – Core Concepts and Readiness is a self-paced, interactive course designed for learners who are new to Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) or are beginning work related to NCQA’s Case Management-LTS (CM-LTSS) Accreditation or one of NCQA’s LTSS Distinctions.
The course introduces essential LTSS concepts and explains how LTSS expectations apply across NCQA programs, including:
- CM-LTSS Accreditation (a stand-alone accreditation), and
- LTSS Distinctions, which are voluntary add-on designations available in:
- Health Plan Accreditation
- Behavioral Health Accreditation
- Case Management Accreditation
Learners will explore what LTSS case management involves, how LTSS differs from medical and behavioral health case management, and what early readiness looks like before pursuing CM-LTSS or an LTSS Distinction. Short lessons, scenarios, and knowledge checks will help learners apply foundational concepts and identify appropriate next steps.
This course serves as the starting point in the LTSS pathway and prepares learners for more detailed, standards-focused LTSS implementation education.
