WASHINGTON, DC—The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) invites the public to comment on updates to its Patient-Centered Specialty Practice (PSCP) Recognition program for 2018.
Public comment helps NCQA create better products through feedback from stakeholders and customers who use its products.
The proposed enhancements align with NCQA’s redesigned Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition program, and eliminate recognition levels, points and must-pass elements. The updated requirements offer flexibility and facilitate continuous improvement. They are organized in two groups:
- CORE CRITERIA. Practices must meet these to earn PCSP Recognition. They demonstrate that the practice is functioning as a medical neighbor and delivers patient-centered care.
- ELECTIVE CRITERIA. Practices can tailor elective activities to the community and populations they serve. Practices must earn a portion of the elective credits available.
PCSP updates will enhance the value of NCQA Recognition for clinicians and their teams, employers, payers, patients and families, and for other stakeholders.
