WASHINGTON, DC— The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) seeks public feedback on proposed changes to Health Plan Accreditation (HPA) 2017, Managed Behavioral Health Organization (MBHO) Certification 2017 and Case Management-Clinical Accreditation (CM-C) 2017, formerly Case Management Accreditation.
This is an opportunity for health plans, consumers, employers, payers and other stakeholders to advise NCQA on updating HPA 2017 and MBHO 2017.
HPA 2017 updates focus on retiring standards to reflect changes in how care is being delivered and to avoid duplication of federal regulations.
“Public comment is a chance for everyone to have a voice in the future of our accreditation programs,” says Patricia Barrett, NCQA’s vice president of Design and Support. “Input from diverse stakeholders is critical to ensuring relevance and feasibility of NCQA programs.”
How to Participate in Public Comment
Read and comment on the proposed changes online. The Public Comment period begins at 9 a.m. ET on February 24 and ends at 5 p.m. ET on March 23, 2016. Updated products will be released July 25, 2016. HPA, MBHO, CM-C product changes will be effective for the 2017 year.
