WASHINGTON, DC—May 16, 2023—The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) today announced the appointment of Amol Vyas as Vice President of Interoperability. In this newly created role reporting to the NCQA Chief Technology Officer, Vyas will drive NCQA’s interoperability strategy and lead all interoperability work with external partners and organizations that set information technology standards.
Vyas has over two decades of experience in enterprise information technology, with lead roles in strategy, architecture and implementation. Previously he was Chief Architect for Interoperability at Cambia Health Solutions, a parent company of health plans. Prior to that, he was part of the MedicaLogic team that developed Logician Enterprise, one of the world’s first Electronic Medical Record systems. Amol also led development of the Common Payer Consumer Data Set and the CARIN FHIR Implementation Guide for Blue Button, a resource many federal health care mandates reference.
“Amol’s knowledge of FHIR and health plan data is first rate. He has been at the forefront of promoting the understanding and adoption of the FHIR standard for almost a decade,” said NCQA Chief Technology Officer Edward Yurcisin. “He is the right leader to help NCQA drive the development of health information technology to improve the measurement and quality of health care in the US.”
