Hello. Welcome, everyone, and thank you for joining us today. We're giving everyone just a few minutes here to get connected before we get started. Alright. I think we can go ahead and get started. Alright. Before we kick off, I'd like to quickly review how to submit questions during today's webinar. So if you have any questions at any time throughout the presentation, you can submit them by clicking the q and a button at the bottom of your screen. We're gonna be collecting questions throughout the entire presentation, and we have time reserved at the end to answer as many as possible. If we don't get to your questions today, there will be a survey link at the end. We encourage you to complete that, and you can submit any questions there as well, and a member of our team will get back to you. Alright. Again, welcome everyone. Thank you for joining us today to discuss Quality Compass. This will be an introduction to Quality Compass. So we'll be talking to you about how organizations across the health care industry use it to support quality improvement, benchmarking, and how it can help you meet your goals. My name is Madison Yanes. I'm an assistant director with the measure data operations team, and here with me today are Carlo and Priya. Alright. So as as I oh, you can you can go back, Priya. I'll introduce you guys a a little more. So joining us today are are Carlo and Priya. Priya is our customer engagement analyst. She's our primary resource for questions related to quality compass access, purchasing, and product capabilities. She's going to be leading today's presentation and walking us through the various Quality Compass offerings. Also on the line is Carlo De Jesus. Carlo is our product operations analyst. Carlo helps ensures our customers have a seamless experience with Quality Compass. He also supports our custom licensing requests and any data needs and data questions. So he'll be helping to monitor the q and a and answer questions throughout today's session. Alright. So whether you're completely new to Quality Compass or if you're looking for a refresher, today's session is really gonna give you a better understanding of how Quality Compass can help your organization benchmark performance, identify improvement opportunities, and make informed decisions. So before we get started, we'll look at today's agenda. We're going to do a Quality Compass overview. We're gonna go over some common use cases and the licensing structure. We're also going to look at our add on data products that are available for purchase and access via our download center, NCQA download center. And then we'll also go over your options for expanding your sharing permissions if you wanna share data outside of the standard license agreement. And then we'll finalize our presentation today with a demo of Quality Compass. And with that, I will hand it off to Priya to get us started. Thank you. Thanks, Madison. Hi, everyone. Thank you all for joining us today to learn about Quality Compass and the range of products we have available within this suite. Our goals today, is to provide an overview of Quality Compass, walk through the data products we offer, and highlight how organizations can use these resources for benchmarking, performance improvement, and quality reporting. So with that, I will jump right in. Quality Compass is NCQA's interactive platform for HIEDAS and CAHPS performance metrics. At its core, it helps users compare health plan performance using plan level results and benchmarks across national, regional, and state levels. There's three key areas to keep in mind when it comes to Quality Compass. First, it provides plan level results and benchmarks. So organizations can compare performance across markets and peer, and peer groups. Second, it supports, custom reporting, allowing users to create and share reports and access measure definitions, trend analysis, and other supporting data. And then lastly, it offers multi a multi market coverage across, commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, and exchange plans. So basically, in short, Quality Compass is designed to help organizations, identify performance gaps, track trends, and support strategic planning. So this is our release timeline for the measurement year twenty twenty five schedule. We do release the commercial data first, and that release date is at the end of this of this month, July thirty first, followed by, Medicaid at the end of August. Member experience datasets are released, at the end of September, followed by Medicare and D SNP, in October, and then exchange, is our end of our release, schedule at the end of November. So this, like, staggered schedule is helpful to keep in mind as you plan your analysis, your reporting, your internal timelines, because we do release these datasets separately throughout the year. Alright. So Quality Compass brings together several types of data and supporting information to help users analyze, benchmark, and act on performance results. So as we previously mentioned, we, users can access, audited HEDIS and CAHPS results across the commercial Medicaid, Medicare, and exchange plans. And these, plan level results allow organizations to evaluate performance across product lines and compare against relevant benchmarks. So benchmarking is a huge part of this platform. It like I said, it includes national, regional, and state level benchmarks, like averages and percentiles, which can, help organizations self set goals, understand, peer performance, and track, where they are in the market. This tool also includes, race and ethnicity performance distributions for select measures, and these stratified results can help, support equity focused analysis by, helping organizations identify disparities and compare performance against populations. Something I wanna highlight, for twenty twenty six that, is new is the addition of the admin only benchmarks. These benchmarks are based on admin only results and provide additional insights where hybrid reporting is not used. Users also have access to measure domains, indicators, detailed measure definitions, summary of changes. We've we we do include indicator level notes related to specification changes, methodology changes, and year over year trending implications. Alright. So for our use cases, we have several different organizations that use Quality Compass in a variety of ways. One common use case is benchmarking, against competitors. That's probably our most common use case for Quality Compass. This allows you to compare performance to market peers to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities. But this tool can also help support quality improvement work by helping organizations use benchmarks and trends to pinpoint gaps to prioritize action. So for teams that are more focused on, like, value based contracting, the data can help set data driven targets and support negotiation strategies. The tool also can help meet regulatory requirements by align aligning with CMS and state program expectations, and it can support health equity efforts by identifying disparities using the race and ethnicity stratified data. And then lastly, for this slide, from a licensing perspective, the standard license agreement does allow access to plan level data in the benchmarks, allows you to analyze year over year, and share the data internally across your organization. There are limitations to sharing data externally, but we do offer a, expanded sharing permission license for broader sharing needs, and I'll hit more on that on a later slide. Okay. So for those of you who wanna explore further after today's session, our Quality Compass website is a great starting point. This page includes purchasing options, pricing, real world case studies. You can watch a quick overview of of Quality Compass to see it in action. You can use our decision tree to help identify which products may be the right fit for your needs. But the the web page also highlights our multiproduct line discount, which also helps organizations who are interested in, more than one product line really maximize their value. So check out the website if you're interested in learning more and and seeing all of those features. Okay. So next, I'll highlight a few add on prop data products, starting with our one to ninety nine percentiles dataset. This dataset really unlocks deeper, benchmarking insights by showing the full performance distribution across the first to the ninety ninth percentile. That means users can go beyond those stated averages of percentiles that are in the standard quality compass tool and better understand the variation across the performance landscape. This can be especially useful for those who wanna identify top performance, understand where you may lie within the broader distribution, but also to set more targeted performance goals. And this dataset is delivered through the My NCQA download center, and it aligns with the standard release schedule. Next is our dual eligible special needs plan dataset, and this is our newest dataset that we that we released last year for the first time. And this dataset really, brings visibility into the the, DSNP performance. So it includes the reported, publicly reported DSNP submissions and allows users to analyze performance at the Medicare Advantage contract level. This data set also includes the national, regional, and state level benchmarks, as well as plan level results for probably reported, contracts. And, for organizations focused on that dual eligible population, this product can really help support benchmarking and analysis on using both that plan level performance and benchmark data. Alrighty. So, the member experience dataset, this, data file provides blinding member level CAHPS data, giving users a deeper insight into member experience through, granular response level data. We do have the we do have the product lines commercial and Medicaid, available for this product, and it focuses on the adults cats only. For twenty twenty six, I do wanna highlight a couple updates. We did simplify, our pricing structure, and we did remove, our user tiers. So now we only have one product offering for each product line. So it's not limited to just the users that you purchased. You can share this more broadly within your organization. So it is still internal use only. And then the release date for this product is, September twenty fifth. Alright. So now I'm gonna talk about our expanded sharing permissions. This is important for those who want to use the quality Compass data beyond the limits of the standard license agreement. And within those standard terms, users are limited to, sharing externally fifteen measure indicators, two benchmarks, and twenty health plan rates. So if an organization needs to share, more broadly, a custom license is required to enable, the expanded use of the quality COMPASS data. So some common use cases include sharing performance data with, your provider network, publishing results, on a public facing website, a dashboard, a report, research paper, things like that, and then collaborating with external partners such as clients or other organizations to support quality initiatives. This process is flexible. The pricing is customized based on your organization's use case and sharing needs, and the agreements are tailored to align with your organization's goals. So if this is intriguing or you wanna learn more, please reach out. Happy to schedule time to talk through your, data needs and your use case and see if this is, a good fit for you. Alright. So before we dive into our live demo, please continue to submit any questions through, the q and a. Any questions, that we don't answer live, we will follow-up after this session. Like previously mentioned, these slides will be made available shortly after today's session. And with that, I will turn it over to Madison. Thank you, Bria. Alright. I will grab the screen share and kick us off. So alright. We're gonna dive into Quality Compass. So upon arriving to the page, you're gonna have a login page with that you can log in to with your single sign on. So if you have a My NCQA username and password, you can use that to log in to Quality Compass as well as any other NCQA system. Alright. So once you log in, you'll arrive at the home page. At the home page, you'll have your quick links. These are helpful links including the public reporting memo that is just like a helpful PDF summary of all the measures that are publicly reported. You're gonna have health plan report cards if you're interested in seeing those accredit statuses. The NCQA download center in case you wanna access your other quality Compass products like the one to ninety nine percentiles or the member experience dataset. There's an easy link there. We also have the data errata page. So if you're interested in seeing any data errors that have been reported to NCQA, oftentimes, we do not rerelease datasets once data error is reported depending on the significance or the extent of of the error. So you can still see summary of any error that was submitted to us by visiting this page. Also on here, you can see our getting started section. You can review the user guide, which is a really helpful guide linked here. We we update it every year, and last year was actually the first year we released it. This is really helpful especially for new users, but also users that frequent Quality Compass before because it does summarize any new measures that have been added to the tool, any new data elements that have been added. It also has, like, a detailed introduction to how they encompass your first time users and easy tips and tricks to navigate the tool, a lot of what we'll be going through today. So if you ever have a question, or forget something we covered today, you also have this as a resource, and we do send this out, to to to new users as well when they get added to the tool. So we also have the demo link here that Priya talked through, and we have our data dictionary as well. So if you wanna see, well, what are some of these data fields mean and what are the definitions, you can download that and you can have that accessible there. You also see updates and announcements section. Quality Compass users get emails with any new updates or announcements that are added to the tool. But if you ever miss one, you can reference them here on your home screen. And then you can also see what to expect in the tool. So any new measures that have been added and things like that will be covered there. On the home page, you can also create new reports or view any recent reports that have been created, but you can also do that here from our create reports link. One more thing before I move on that I wanna cover a couple of things up here is your product year. When we release our twenty twenty six products this year, there will be another option added to this drop down, which will be twenty twenty six measurement year twenty twenty five, and you can select that to view the latest and greatest data. If you purchase if your organization purchases Quality Compass year to year, you can access the historical data by clicking on the prior years here. Last on here, you have your ask a question, which will take you to My NCQA, and you can submit a question to us there as an option. And I will go through these options here in the drop down in just a second. So you have some options here like the license agreement and the license user management page. So we'll go through those here shortly. Alright. So create reports. This is a really great section of the tool if you wanna build a custom report that includes both plan level performance rates and benchmarks. We also have other sections of the tool where you can download a large Excel file that has all of our benchmarks and all of our plan performance reports. However, that might be really overwhelming if you don't if you wanna, start with something smaller where you don't have to filter a bunch of information, or if you have someone within the team that maybe is not well as well versed in Excel or prefers some kind of PDF document to share with leadership, this would be a a great area of the tool for you to use. Here, you'll see all the product lines that we have available organization has purchased access to and that you are assigned to a license for. So you can select any product line here. You can run a report for one product line at a time. You cannot we don't compare these data across product lines, so can only build a report for one product line at a time. However, you can build in multiple years if you purchase access to our trended data license. So that's really great because it builds the multiple years of input of data into one report rather than you having to do that separately. Another great benefit of our trended data licenses is that you can see those trended impacts. Right? So if there's a measure that broke trending this year because there was significant changes to the measure specification that resulted in changes in performance, you will be able to to to see that we don't trend back to historical data and because that that data will not display within the tool. So just for the purpose of this, I'll go ahead and select all three years, and then we'll move on to selecting our measures. So here you have the full list of measures, in this case, for the Medicaid product line. You can narrow this down by indicator name or measure code. What we we put the measure code there because, you know, sometimes if you work with HIE this all the time, you probably know these, like, the back of your hand. Right? So you can search by by measure code. You can search by indicator name. If you wanna build in breast cancer screening, you can do that. We also have this filter over here where you can filter by the measure name, measure code, or the domain, which is really helpful, right, if you wanna look at just experience of care measures like CAHPS. You can select those. The report does the create report section does allow a maximum sixty measure indicators to be selected per report. We limit this just so, it's easier to analyze the information within the report. But, again, if you want more data in an Excel download, I'll show you where you can get that. Alright. This button here allows you to view the full list of measures versus what you've selected. So if you just wanna dive into and see, okay, what have I selected for this report? You can select the view selected button. K. Moving on to the benchmark section. You can add benchmarks or health plan rates into your report. You can do both, right, if you wanna see where does this group of health plans stand in comparison to a national benchmark or a state benchmark or a regional benchmark. So here you can select what percentiles you wanna build in. You can also select whether you wanna build in a national, regional, or state benchmark. You can search here by region type. Let's say I wanna look at a state benchmark. You can also select the state. Right? Maybe I'll build in California and Delaware and Florida and select those. You can also select by plan type. So we have we really cut up this data in several ways that might meet meet your needs. The all lines of business benchmark is our most popular benchmark. Right? It's inclusive of all health plans that submitted data regardless of whether they're HMO or PPO. So for Medicaid specifically, it doesn't differentiate so much because most Medicaid plans are HMOs. So I'm gonna go ahead and select the all lines of business, and we're gonna build those in. And then for the health plans, so you can search by organization name, but, you know, you can type in Aetna, for example, and it'll narrow down to all those that have Aetna in the name. But something great here is that you can also filter by plan type, and you can also filter by state. So if I wanna see all plans that reported in Florida and how they compare to that state level benchmark, I can select Florida, and it will narrow my list to all plans that reported in that area. Alright. So we got our report together. I might select a couple of different measures here, like the access and availability of care. Build a couple of those in. Alright. And then we can view our results. Alright. So once you build your report, it does automatically save to your report center. So if you ever need to go back to it, you have it there. You can also rename your report. It does default to this name, but you can name it whatever you want. And here are the results. As you can see, my report is for three years of data. I have built in the plan level rates as well as four different percentiles. So in this table view, you can see the the performance for all plans and benchmarks that you've built in. Here, you can see, for example, for this measure, Aetna Better Health of Florida had a sixty six point two six, and that compare compared to is just under our Florida all lines of business benchmark at a six sixty six point six eight. This is the average. So this is one way that you can look at the data. So you scroll down, you can see the other measures here, and you can scroll back up to the top of your page if you need to. Another great useful tool here is this information icon. You can hover over and it'll show you the definition of the measure there. Something that's really cool is if the measure had a break in trending, you will also see that. So that'll be indicated by this different icon here, and it'll tell you what those trend notes were. So this plans by plan all cause readmissions measure had a break in trending for measurement year twenty twenty four. It'll tell you why, and then it'll it'll not display data for prior years because that data is not trendable. So from here, you can actually export this to Excel or PDF. You can copy and edit the report. You can share it with others within your team. So if I wanted to share this report with Priya and Carlo, I can do so by selecting their names. It'll go ahead and and send them an email notification advising them that they have a report to view. You can also view other reports. So if you wanna navigate to a different report you've recently built, you can do so from there as well. Alright. So just an example of the PDF view here. You can export that, and then you can also export in Excel. So this is your PDF view. This is really nice if you want, you know, to share this report with someone in leadership. Right? You can have this ready to go. Alright. So navigating back here, let's go to the report center. So the report center, again, you you'll see this little notification here. I like to let mine pile up sometimes, I guess, but this is reports that have been shared with me. So if you have a new you'll have a new notification there if a report has been recently shared with you. You can navigate here, and you can see those reports. So once you select a report, it'll tell you the details of the report on this screen, what measurement years, what measure indicators are included, what health plans and benchmarks, and then your notification will disappear. So this sec this area is great. You can see all the reports that have been shared with you. You can see any saved reports that you have. You can see the details of those saved reports. This one's a little more robust, so you can see those details there. And then you can view the report, and you have all those other tools and action items here as well. And then I'll show you what our standard reports look like. So our benchmark report, this is, like, the bread and butter of Quality Compass. If you really just wanna come in here and you say, I want an Excel file with all the benchmarks that are in the tool. You can do so by navigating here to the benchmark report, and this will allow you to view within the tool, and you can also export it. A great feature here is we have the ability for you to filter down on data if you wanna do that before exporting, if you wanna narrow down the dataset. It's almost like an opposite effect to what is in create reports. Right? You're here, you're narrowing down a very large dataset. But you're able to do that. You're also able to see multiple years and build those into your report if you have the trended data license. You're also able to see the race and ethnicity benchmarks. And as of this year, you're also gonna see an admin only option in this drop down, which will be the administrative only benchmarks for hybrid measures. So if you wanna see those race and ethnicity stratifications, you can do that here. You can also switch to census, HHS, and state level benchmarks, and those will load up. Sometimes you'll see different indeed abbreviations within the tool. This one in particular is because we had only one health plan that submitted a submitted data in the Alabama region that was a commercial product. Sorry. That was an HMO in the commercial space. So we do not produce a benchmark unless there was at least five health plans that reported in a given region. So you'll know that by looking at the count, if it's less than five, then no bench will be produced. I'll go ahead and show you an example of what this looks like in an exported view. So this is just an export of the benchmark report. I narrowed it down to just a few measures. So you'll see we have the measure codes there. You can look at the measure indicator names, and you also have the full set of average and percentiles. So if you wanna look at the full range of benchmarks, this is definitely your best place to go. You'll also be able to export all these different plan types. Alright. So let's show you our plan performance report. So similarly to the benchmark report, this is a very large file that has every single plan that's submitted and publicly reported data to NCQA for every single publicly reported measure. So you're able to export this information here. You can select the year. You can also narrow down the information if you just wanna look at a specific organization or a specific measure. And you can also select what columns you wanna show and hide. So you can do this in the benchmark report too. Let's say you don't really care about the domain, you can hide that. If you don't wanna show denominator information, you can, you know, narrow down these columns before exporting. And I'll show you what that looks like, our plan performance report. Something that we added with in in recent years was these additional data points. So we have the denominator, the numerators, eligible populations, and upper and lower confidence limits, as well as the rate submitted by the health plan. So here you could see the organization, what measure they submitted, and what the rate was. So the the difference here, you know, in the in the create reports view, a great feature there is that you can see both the benchmark and the plan level rates all in the same report. Right? Here, you really have to combine the data or do some analysis to be able to say, okay. Well, this was my health plan's rate. How does that compare to the benchmark? Right? Because the rate alone doesn't say much unless you're looking at other health plans in the same region or if you're comparing it back to a benchmark. So combining that data is really gonna be the most helpful to say, okay. What what's what's really this information showing? Great. And lastly, here is our risk adjusted utilization file. The risk adjusted measures have a lot more data points that we include. So we include them in a separate data download there. So when you export that, you'll get a file like this. You'll see you'll have all the indicators for each of the risk adjusted measures. You'll have member count, non non non outlier member count, so on, variance, observed rate, expected rate, OE, outlier rate. For the risk adjusted measures, we own we benchmark all of these. So you'll see those in your benchmark report as well. Alright. And I think you're oh, I can show you this. This is an example of an exported report from create reports. Looks similar. You'll you'll see a lot of the same columns, and then you'll be able to see the rates and the the ones that you selected to pull in benchmarks for. So you'll see those as well. Alright. And then let's go to the resource center. The resource center is really great. We have this about the measure section where you can look at all the measure definitions and any trending impacts or changes to the measures that have occurred in the last three years. So if you wanna look at a specific measure, breast cancer screening, you can look at what the definition is and if they had any trending impacts. You can also export this information. So I find that really helpful if you want an Excel file or a PDF of just all the definitions. That way, you can easily sort through those measures that had trending impacts. Right? You can see what those notes were there. And your definitions there. Alright. And then the plans by region. So if you want an Excel export of what region each health plan fell into, you can export that here. You can if you're interested in seeing what states, what census, and HHS regions, you can select that there, and then you'll have this in an exportable Excel or PDF file so you can see all the regions that these health plans had members in. So and what benchmark they contributed to. Alright. Be here. So let's go back to our oh, sorry. Our frequently asked questions. If there's ever a question that you can't find in your user guide, you might be able to find it here. You find answer here. You can also if if you if you're not able to find the answer here, you can, again, go and ask a question to us and and send us a message directly. And then on our drop down, we can end here, is the license agreement and license user management. So the license agreement section, this has the terms that you agree to when you log in to the tool for the first time, and you'll be able to download this file here. If you need to share it within your organization, others can access it there to anyone that has direct access to the tool. But, basically, the standard permissions, like Bria said, are just limited to internal use, and you can distribute it freely throughout your organization. You know, we wanna ensure that you guys are collaborating and that you have access to the data that you need to improve your performance scores and and set goals. And we do have limited external sharing permissions that you can see in section two here, and those can be expanded via a custom license. And lastly is our licensed users manager. So here is where you're able to add and remove users on your license. As a default, when you submit your Quality Compass order, you have a ship to contact email. That's who we assign as the admin user on your license. That administrative user can go in and add other users to the license. You do have up to thirty users that can be added at a single time. So that is standard across all of our licenses, thirty users per product line. So you can add and remove users here, and they will get a notification via email saying that they have been added. So that's that. Think I covered it all. So I will hand it back to Priya to close this out. Thank you. Oh, Priya, you're can I can you hear me? I I can't hear you. It might just be me. Can you hear me? Yes. I can hear you now. Alright. So before we head into our q and a session, I want to talk through a few ways to take the next step with Quality Compass. First, you can, visit the NCQA website to learn more about, the Quality Compass features, the use cases, and the purchase options. If you have any questions or need help selecting the right option, you can always submit an inquiry through your my n c q a dot org account. And if you're ready to get started, you can purchase a license, through the NCQA store. We are offering a special webinar promo code that, allows you to save ten percent on your Quality Compass order today. So use the code, thank you ten, at checkout or receive that promotion. And with that, I will let Madison dive into the q and a's. Thank you. Okay. So if you haven't submitted your question, go ahead and do so now. We're gonna go ahead and start answering some questions live. I see we had someone that asked, does Quality Compass include state level Medicaid performance? Yes. It does. The state level performance is the most granular level of data available within Quality Compass. And and, yes, that is available for all publicly reported HEDIS as well as CAHPS measures. Alright. We have another question that says, if we purchase Quality Compass, will multiple users in our organization be able to run reports or is it just the user who made the purchase? Yep. So anyone that has a that is assigned as a user will be able to run reports. So the the person that purchased the the license is going to be the administrative user. That user can go ahead and add anyone else, and anyone that's assigned can go ahead and run reports for the organization. And because the license is for internal use, those even if you're not assigned on the license, that that can be distributed to others in your organization to support your work. We did get a question from LinkedIn about how many years of data we have available. So we do have our current year data. We have a bundle for that, and then we also have a two year trended data, which contains the current year data and then one year prior, and then a three year bundle, which is the current year data and then two years prior. So if you are interested in that trended data, then that two and three year bundle would be good for you. I also not sure if we mentioned it, but, we also get the question of when, the data is refreshed, every year. So we do refresh our data annually. It's once a year, and the measurement year, for the data contained in the quality is from the measurement year from the year prior. So Quality Compass twenty twenty six will contain twenty twenty five data. Yeah. It looks like we don't have any more questions. But before we end, I just wanna let you all know to keep an eye out. For those of you that are more experienced quality Compass users, we are gonna have a webinar series coming up soon. We'll be sending out more information about that later in the year where we'll dive into more interpretations of the data, findings, and and different trends that we're seeing in the measurement year twenty twenty five results. And we'll be also sharing some antidotes from other frequent Quality Compass users on their experience using the data and how they have used it to to improve performance. So keep an eye out for that if you're interested. Interested. But, otherwise, if any other questions come up, as we said in the beginning, make sure to complete the survey, and you can add your questions there, and we'll reach back out to you. So thank you for joining us today. Really appreciate it.
