Faculty

Sharon Tsay, MD

Dr. Sharon Tsay is a Medical Officer in the Office of Antibiotic Stewardship in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In this position, she works with colleagues at CDC and with external partners, including public health departments and health systems, to increase the knowledge of appropriate antibiotic prescribing and successful stewardship interventions.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Tsay completed CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service fellowship in the Mycotic Diseases Branch, where she led multi-state outbreaks of fungal disease. Before she joined the CDC, Dr. Tsay completed infectious diseases fellowship training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Columbia-New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Tsay continues to practice clinically as an inpatient infectious diseases consultant at Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta.
