Wellness & Health Promotion

The wellness & health promotion market is expanding, and employers need to be able to determine which programs perform best in this rapidly growing field.

The NCQA WHP program assesses health plans and vendors that provide wellness & health promotion services. It focuses on:

  • How wellness & health promotion programs are implemented in the workplace.
  • How coaching and other services help program participants learn to make healthy choices.
  • How effectively participants’ private health information is protected.

Because the WHP program is based on standardized measures, it helps employers and others who contract with health promotion services make informed comparisons when choosing among vendors.

Wellness programs can make a real difference in companies’ competitiveness by helping workers and their families change unhealthy behaviors But not all wellness programs provide the meaningful assistance that employees—and their employers—look for. WHP helps firms find the programs that deliver results.
