Four New Members Join NCQA’s Evaluation Programs Committee

January 26, 2026 · Becky Kolinski

NCQA relies on expertise and insights from diverse stakeholders as we develop and evolve our products and programs. Our committees are an important source of feedback. Recently, we merged the Standards Committee and the Clinical Programs Committee into the newly established Evaluation Programs Committee.

“From value-based care to digital quality measurement, collaboration between payers and care delivery systems is essential for success,” says Lori Ferguson, NCQA’s Senior Vice President, Product and Customer Operations. “Combining payer and provider perspectives within a single committee will help NCQA evolve our Accreditation and Recognition programs to be more integrated.”

Role of the Evaluation Programs Committee

The Evaluation Programs Committee advises the NCQA Board of Directors on standards and other requirements proposed for use in NCQA products. The Board has final approval over all requirements.

The committee supports NCQA’s mission by:

  • Bringing together different healthcare constituents to achieve consensus about meaningful and feasible quality assessment requirements for NCQA products.
  • Participating in the ongoing review and revision of existing requirements, as well as developing new requirements for evaluating the structure, processes and outcomes of quality management systems in healthcare organizations.
  • Reviewing and incorporating input from public comments and other advisory committees throughout the process.
