Important Information for HEDIS® Users

We have identified an issue with the (Asthma Controller Medications) list in the HEDIS^® 2018 Medication List Directory (MLD) of NDC codes posted to the NCQA Web site on November 1, 2017. The list included codes for nebulizer medications that should not have been included.

The NDC codes for the nebulizer medications have been removed and the HEDIS 2018 MLD now has a correct version of the (Asthma Controller Medications) NDC list. Because we understand that this correction has implications for preliminary rate review of the asthma measures, we are informing as many HEDIS users as possible via this email, our Web site and on our blog.

To resolve the issue, our customers will have to update their Value Sets for both the Medication Management for People with Asthma (MMA) measure and Asthma Medication Ratio (AMR) measure.  Organizations working with these measures must download the updated table posted on the NCQA Web site on February 8, 2018.
