Toyin Ajayi calls herself a reluctant entrepreneur. At heart, she is a reformer who advises her fellow physicians to get comfortable having uncomfortable conversations about disease. Ajayi wants to help colleagues embrace what she calls the “necessary uncertainty” that comes when doctors sit with patients to discuss the root causes of illness. She set out to tackle what she sees as health care’s toughest problems, and happens to use private enterprise to do so.
