CCE Quarterly: The Business Case for PCMH: A Deep Dive

Join us for a deep dive into the 2019 white paper, Patient-Centered Medical Home: Developing the Business Case from a Practice Perspective.

Last year NCQA, engaged Milliman, Inc., one of the world's largest providers of actual services, to develop a paper outlining the operational and financial considerations for primary care practices considering achieving or maintaining NCQA PCMH Recognition. The report addresses a practice's operational and financial considerations for becoming PCMH-Recognized; examines revenue sources and estimates revenues potentially attributable to PCMH Recognition under various payment models, including FFS and value-based payment; and discusses costs associated with PCMH Recognition using two costing methods. It outlines components of a pro forma useful from a practice leader or CFO's perspective and considerations for developing a business case.

The webinar will feature a comprehensive overview of the business implications—the bottom line—for earning NCQA PCMH Recognition and will discuss how some practices may be able to increase revenue.

What You Will Learn

At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize key findings from the Patient-Centered Medical Home: Developing the Business Case from a Practice Perspective report.
  • List examples of how hypothetical practices might increase revenue and consider how their organization might adapt those strategies (depending on payment models) to achieve value.
  • Articulate the value proposition of Recognition within the evolving health care landscape.
