About the On-Demand Training

This live 60-minute session on Weight Assessment and Counseling for Nutrition and Physical Activity for Children/Adolescents (WCC) is the second in a series of webinars that will focus on measures that cause frequently asked questions. During the webinar we will present the background of the measure and the intent, discuss specifications and reveal some of the common pitfalls in medical record review. 

After completing this on-demand training, you will be able to:

• Explain the nuances of the WCC measure and its intent. 

• Discuss WCC specifications.

• Apply their knowledge of the HEDIS Comprehensive Diabetes Care measure through medical record review.

Faculty

Sepheen C. Byron

Ms. Byron is Assistant Vice President of Performance Measurement at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Sepheen has over 15 years of experience in the evaluation of health care quality. At NCQA, Sepheen provides strategic direction on measures development and use, including measures for the HEDIS® Health Plan Measures Set and other national evaluation programs. She directs NCQA’s evaluation efforts in the areas of pediatric care, preventive services and appropriateness/overuse. Most recently, she led work within the AHRQ-CMS CHIPRA National Collaborative for Innovation in Quality Measurement, an NCQA-led Center of Excellence charged with developing and enhancing measures for children and adolescents in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Prior to joining NCQA, Sepheen was a research analyst in the Center for Outcomes and Evidence at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Sepheen conducted research on the effectiveness and efficiency of health services. Specific projects included the National Health Care Disparities Report and the Research Initiative in Clinical Economics.

Sepheen received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and her Master of Health Science from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Kristen Swift

Ms. Swift is a Manager in Policy-Measures in the Product Design and Support Division of the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

In her current position, Ms. Swift supports the HEDIS Volume 2 Technical Specifications and the development of other HEDIS products. Ms. Swift represents the policy perspective on several NCQA projects including NQF endorsement and the Quality Payment Program. She also works closely with other staff members in responding to NCQA customers and constituents through the Policy Clarification Support system and in developing Frequently Asked Questions.

Ms. Swift received her Master of Health Services Administration degree from Strayer University.
