 Engagement With TelehealthThis course presents a panel 
 discussion about the telehealth experiences of a provider 
 and patient/patient advocates\, from when an appointment is 
 made through the after-visit follow-up. The panel will 
 discuss how telehealth has improved their health care 
 experience and how to overcome obstacles that prevent easy 
 access to care\, and will identify strategies for avoiding 
 the glitches that frustrate patients and providers.\nClick

 You Will Learn\n\nAssess the patient's ability to fully 
 engage in a telehealth appointment.Identify strategies to 
 improve interactions for an effective telehealth 
 visit.Outline tactics for efficient follow-through of 
 patient care. \nFaculty\n\n\nDiann Folkersen\nDiann 
 Folkersen is has 4 children and 5 grandchildren. One 
 daughter is a leukemia survivor and a son is on the autism 
 spectrum (Asperger's syndrome). Ms. Folkersen is also 
 caregiver to her mother\, who is a Medicare beneficiary and a 
 Medicaid brain waiver recipient for strokes\, and is living 
 with post-polio syndrome. She was Chair of the Patient and 
 Family Advisory Council at Primary Children's Hospital and a 
 Parent Adviser on the Family Support Services Leadership 
 Team\, and served on the Facility Design Committee\, Nurse in 
 Residency Training\, Medical Student Training and Family 
 Support Services Coordination Committee. She currently 
 serves on the Patient and Family Advisory Council with 
 Comagine Health. She worked as a CNA at St. Mark’s 
 Hospital\, Bennion Care Center and Murray Care Center\, and as 
 a Psych. Tech. at Wasatch Canyon’s in-patient facility. 
 She was trained in Behavior Modification group therapy and 
 Crisis Intervention. Ms. Folkersen earned her BA in 
 Psychology from the University of Utah.\n \n\nPsarah 
 Johnson\nA self-identifying “cripplepunk\,” Psarah 
 Johnson is a community activist who was born with juvenile 
 rheumatoid arthritis and has spent her life collecting 
 autoimmune disorders. She also suffers from PTSD as a result 
 of medical trauma and psychological abuse\, but she has lived 
 her entire life refusing to take the back seat. Ms. Johnson 
 has worked as a group home coordinator\, taught high school 
 students theatre and civics\, performed as a stand-up 
 comedian and at one point even ran away to join the circus. 
 Most recently\, she stepped away from her career as an 
 educator to become a full-time activist\, advocate\, writer 
 and public speaker. Ms. Johnson is Board Chair for the 
 Disabled Rights Action Committee.\n \n\nDan McDyer\, MD\, 
 FACOG\nDaniel McDyer\, MD\, FACOG\, is an OB/GYN at Florida 
 Woman Care of Jacksonville\, Florida. He is board certified 
 by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is 
 section chairman of the American College of Obstetricians 
 and Gynecologists. He is also president of the Jacksonville 
 OB/GYN Society and a fellow of the American College of 
 Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. McDyer is Clinical 
 Innovation Officer for Carie™ Health\, a telemedicine 
 company that offers the world’s most advanced and 
 versatile telehealth platform\, allowing physicians to 
 provide 24/7 virtual health care to their patients. Dr. 
 McDyer specializes in minimally invasive surgery\, menstrual 
 issues\, urinary incontinence and treatment for infertility. 
 Dr. McDyer earned his MD from the University of South 
 Florida College of Medicine and completed his residency in 
 OB/GYN at the University of Florida Health Jacksonville\, 
 where he was Administrative Chief Resident.\n \nContinuing
