DESCRIPTION:About this On Demand Training\n\nEating Disorders: A Look 
 Inside a Virtual Treatment CenterOn March 17\, 2020\, Walden 
 Behavioral Care began providing telehealth treatment for 
 ambulatory clients\, in an unprecedented attempt to avoid 
 disruption of treatment of eating disorders during the 
 COVID-19 crisis. This course is an introduction to eating 
 disorders\, diagnosis\, assessment and interventions\, and 
 summarizes what Walden has learned over the past year of 
 providing ambulatory care for people with eating disorders

 Learn\n\nDifferentiate between multiple DSM V feeding and 
 eating disorders in adolescents and adults.Identify four 
 common co-occurring disorders and four risk factors in 
 patients suffering from eating disorder.Explain the 
 family-based approach to the treatment of adolescents with 
 eating disorders. Identify five medical consequences of 
 eating disorders.Describe the challenges of treating eating 
 disorders virtually.\n Faculty\n\n\nRebekah Bardwell 
 Doweyko\, LPC\, CEDS-S\nRebekah Bardwell Doweyko is Assistant 
 Vice President of Clinical Operations at Walden Behavioral 
 Care. Under her direction\, Walden’s clinics have developed 
 and implemented specialized treatment tracks and programming 
 including trauma\, substance use and LGBTQ+. She is 
 responsible for program development and clinical\, 
 administrative and fiscal oversight of Walden’s virtual 
 programs and ambulatory clinics in Connecticut\; Amherst and 
 Peabody\, Massachusetts\; and its residential and ambulatory 
 programs in Georgia.\nPrior to joining Walden\, Ms. Doweyko 
 was Intensive Care Manager at the Connecticut Behavioral 
 Health Partnership (Value Options\, Inc.). She also founded 
 and directed the Intuitive Eating Program at Hollywood 
 Pavilion Hospital in Hollywood\, Florida. She wrote the 
 foreword to “Maintaining Recovery from Eating 
 Disorders\,” by Naomi Feigenbaum\, and was featured in the 
 Emmy Nominated HBO Documentary\, “THIN.” Ms. Doweyko 
 earned her MA in Mental Health Counseling from Florida 
 Atlantic University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor 
 in Connecticut and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist 
 and Approved IAEDP Supervisor.\nDr. Michael Chiumiento\, 
 Psy.D\nMichael Chiumiento is currently Director of 
 Adolescent & Family Services at Walden Behavioral Care. He 
 leads clinical training in the therapeutic modalities and 
 evidence-based curricula delivered to adolescents and 
 families across Walden’s treatment continuum\, and assists 
 in development and analysis of measures examining program 
 efficacy. Dr. Chiumiento has received advanced intensive 
 training in Family-Based Treatment\; FBT-TAY\; DBT for 
 Adolescents & Families (DBT-A)\; and the DBT prolonged 
 exposure protocol for PTSD (DBT-PE). He presents on FBT/ DBT 
 to clinical and educational staff and medical residents\, 
 both in and outside of the Walden system\, including IAEDP\, 
 The Alliance for Eating Disorders and Tufts Medical School. 
 As part of his role at Walden\, Dr. Chiumiento maintains 
 relationships and regular procedural reviews with local and 
 national professionals to support continuity of care and to 
 assess the feasibility\, consistency and effectiveness of 
 eating disorder treatment interventions. He is a member of 
 the Walden Training and Outcomes Committees.\n\nDr. Kate 
 Craigen\, Ph.D\nKate Craigen is a clinical psychologist and 
 the Director of Clinical Integrity and Innovation at Walden 
 Behavioral Care. Dr. Craigen’s responsibilities include 
 training\, supervision\, and data driven program development. 
 Before joining Walden\, Dr. Craigen completed her 
 postdoctoral fellowship and was a clinical instructor at the 
 Eating and Weight Disorders Program at the Mount Sinai 
 School of Medicine in New York. She completed her clinical 
 internship at the New Jersey VA and received her doctorate 
 from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her clinical and 
 research interests include the intersection of gender\, 
 trauma\, substance use and eating disorders.\n \n\nRachel 
 Egan\, PMHNP\nRachel D. Egan is a nurse practitioner trained 
 to treat mental health disorders in clients of all ages. She 
 specializes in the treatment of eating disorders\, ADHD and 
 PTSD\, and works with clients with numerous other diagnoses\, 
 including anxiety and depression.\nMs. Egan earned her BA 
 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst\, and earned 
 her BSN and MSN through Massachusetts General’s Institute 
 of Health Professions’ direct entry program. She was 
 granted the Harriet Towle Excellence in Clinical Nursing 
 Practice award upon completion of the program. In addition 
 to her outpatient work\, Rachel is Associate Medical Director 
 of Ambulatory Programming at Walden Behavioral Care. She is 
 also enrolled in the Psychiatry Redefined Fellowship 
 Program.\n \nContinuing Education\n\nIn support of 
 improving patient care\, the National Committee for Quality 
 Assurance is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council 
 for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)\, the Accreditation 
 Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)\, the American Nurses 
 Credentialing Center (ANCC)\, the American Academy of 
 Physician Assistants (AAPA)\, the American Psychological 
 Association (APA)\, and the Association of Social Work Boards 
 (ASWB) to provide Interprofessional Continuing 
 Education for the healthcare team. \nThis educational
