Introduction to NCQA Accreditation for Health Plans and MBHOs

About the Program

Intro.jpgThis two-day seminar is designed for organizations undergoing their first NCQA survey or those that have new staff managing the survey process. Presentations will provide an overview of the intent and requirements of all the 2010 Health Plan and MBHO standards and a high-level overview of the Interactive Survey System.

Participants will receive a copy of the 2010 Health Plan Accreditation Standards and Guidelines OR the 2010 MBHO Accreditation Standards and Guidelines

Note: Organizations that have experience with the ISS but need a refresher are encouraged to also attend the November 20  “Preparing for an NCQA Survey Using the Interactive Survey System: A Hands-On Workshop.”

Seminar Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on November 18th  and 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. on November 19th.
Registration is from 8:10 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on November 18.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be served on both days.

At the completion of this seminar, you will be able to:

  • Describe NCQA and the accreditation survey process for health plans, including file review
  • Explain the rationale for NCQA’s Health Plan Accreditation Standards
  • Describe the impact of HEDIS measures in accreditation
  • Identify how to prepare for the NCQA Accreditation survey process, including a high-level overview of the Interactive Survey System

NCQA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

NCQA is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance designates this educational activity for a maximum of 12.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM .  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This educational activity is approved for 12.6 nursing education contact hours.
