The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), whose mission is to improve the quality of health care, is seeking a Senior Health Care Analyst.
Job Description:
Major responsibilities include taking a leadership role in assessing, developing, and refining HEDIS measures.
The Senior Health Care Analyst will direct measure development activities, assess the status of performance measurement related to populations and/or clinical conditions, review literature for relevant background information, consult with experts in the field, and communicate with external and internal customers.
Currently, this work is accomplished by establishing goals, prioritizing work and operationalizing meeting details of expert panels as well as conducting analyses to support the work of these expert panels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Health Care Analyst will establish goals and strategy; manage and coordinate measure development process in assigned areas, including prioritization of measures and issues, assessment of measures, and development of specifications; develop pilot testing strategy and implementation of measures.
Moreover, this person will manage and coordinate measure development activities (e.g. expert panel meetings).
In addition, the Senior Health Care Analyst will research and synthesize necessary background information for measure development activities.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of consulting and/or project management experience in health care including one year experience with managed care and/or performance measurement issues.
- Knowledge of health care policy, public health and medical services research issues and basic knowledge of statistics.
Education:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, Public Policy, Business Administration (or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the necessary requirements of this position).Services Research, Health Care Administration, Health
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage several tasks/projects simultaneously (project management skills).
- Knowledge or exposure to statistical analysis.
- Proficiency with Windows based word processing and spreadsheet applications.
