Training Sessions
NCQA conducts training sessions over the Web to inform SNPs about pertinent information on the processes for submitting data through NCQA’s data collection tools and the requirements for SNP evaluation. Dates and times of the training sessions are available here. All SNPs are encouraged to participate. The sessions are being provided at no charge.
Below you will find presentations and recordings of the most recent and past training seminars.
HEDIS Sessions
Introduction to NCQA and the SNP Assessment
NCQA is offering this training for organizations that are unfamiliar with NCQA and the SNP Evaluation. This two-hour session provides an overview of NCQA and the components assessed in Phase I and II of the project. The purpose of this training is to provide a foundation of knowledge for organizations new to NCQA and both components of SNP Evaluation prior to the other training sessions.

SNP Subset of HEDIS Measures
CMS requires SNPs with 30 or more members as of 1/01/08 to report data on a subset of HEDIS measures for each SNP benefit package. This training session focused on the reporting guidelines and technical specifications for the subset of HEDIS measures required for SNPs. Organizations are encouraged to review the applicable measure in HEDIS 2009, Volume 2 – Technical Specifications prior to the training session. HEDIS volumes can be purchased online at NCQA’s Web site http://www.ncqa.org/

S&P Measures Sessions
S&P Measures 1 through 3
NCQA will be using S&P measures to evaluate policies and procedures SNPs have in place to ensure quality of care for their members. These requirements address complex case management, member satisfaction and clinical quality improvements. This training will review each of the S&P measures (including a new element in SNP 2 and 3), the intent of each measure and the types of documentation plans can provide to demonstrate meeting the intent of each measure element.

Structure and Process Measures 4 through 7
NCQA will be using several new S&P measures to evaluate policies and procedures SNPs have in place to ensure quality of care for their members. These requirements address care transitions, Institutional SNPs’ Relationship with Facilities and the integration of Medicare and Medicaid benefits and services. This training will review each of the S&P measures, the intent of each measure and the types of documentation plans can provide to demonstrate meeting the intent of each measure element.

Interactive Data Submission System (IDSS)
NCQA will collect HEDIS data with its Interactive Data Submission System (IDSS). This training session provides participants with an overview of NCQA’s IDSS HEDIS data collection tool, how to accurately submit required HEDIS data, and how NCQA processes and analyzes the data. Organizations that are already familiar with NCQA’s HEDIS data collection process and/or have participated in our standard IDSS training session do not need to attend this training.
Presentation materials coming soon
Interactive Survey System (ISS)
NCQA will collect the S&P measures with its Interactive Survey System (ISS). This training session provides participants with an overview of NCQA’s ISS, how to accurately submit the required S&P documentation, and how NCQA processes and assesses this information.
