2008 National Policy Conference:

The Road to Quality Health Care for All Americans

On December 5, 2008, NCQA convened its third annual Policy Conference, The Road to Quality Health Care for All Americans in Washington. This one-day conference brought together the brightest minds in health care to chart a course toward a value-based health care system.

Expert panelists discussed key topics such as:

• Need for delivery system reform
• Potential uses of comparative effectiveness research
• Reinforcing the medical evidence base
• Changing current payment systems to drive quality improvement

U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) spoke frankly of the challenges ahead in health care reform. This meeting is a must for health care leaders, policymakers, physicians, hospital administrators, senior health plan managers interested in identifying new ways to address improve health care quality.
