Certification products represent a subset of the standards and guidelines for our accreditation products and are appropriate for organizations that provide specific services but not comprehensive programs.
As with accreditation products, the review process is rigorous and may consist of both an on- and off-site evaluation. The evaluations are conducted by physicians, if appropriate, and experts in the product being evaluated. A review oversight committee of physicians analyzes the team’s findings and assigns a certification level based on the organization’s performance against NCQA’s standards.
NCQA’s requirements – developed with the input and support of employers, unions, health plans and consumers – are demanding. NCQA has purposely set the standard high to encourage organizations to continuously enhance their quality.
