Special Assistant to the General Counsel
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), whose mission is to improve the quality of health care, is seeking a Special Assistant to the General Counsel.  

Job Description

The Special Assistant to the General Counsel will present professional and legal support to the General Counsel by providing centralized coordination of all activities for the NCQA Board and Board committees. This person will assist with research and preparation of documents to assist the General Counsel.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Special Assistant to the General Counsel will serve as a central point of contact to the Board of Directors to coordinate board-related activities. This person manages preparation and logistics for all board meetings and numerous board committee meetings.

The position ensures meetings are scheduled appropriately and all meeting logistics are in place. The assistant plans, prepares and distributes meeting agendas and materials.

Furthermore, the Special Assistant to the General Counsel assists senior leadership with other meeting arrangements, such as preparing draft corporate resolutions and minutes of board and committee meetings. This person will maintain bylaws and other historical corporate records and prepare corporate filings.

The Special Assistant to the General Counsel will prepare and manage the board budgets and negotiate hotel contracts. This person will coordinate with travel agents to manage travel arrangements.

Qualifications

5-7 years related experience working with directors and senior executives, including experience coordinating BOD work.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong writing skills.
  • Knowledge of corporate documents (i.e. bylaws, BOD materials, minutes etc.)  Strong, polished  communication skills.
  • Strong planning skills.
  • Project management skills.  
  • Very strong detail orientation.
