Health and Well Being
Our employee benefits program is a significant part of the total compensation package. It has been designed with your financial and health care needs in mind. This program will help offset financial hardship in the event you become ill, disabled or die. The various programs provide options and can be tailored to meet your changing individual and family needs.
This summary is a brief overview of the benefits for which employees may be eligible.
The NCQA retirement program provides income for you upon your retirement. This income is in addition to and independent of any other retirement benefits, such as Social Security and other personal provisions for retirement.
NCQA Employer Contribution Plan - 401 (a)
Under this plan, NCQA contributes 5.5% of your regular monthly salary up to the Social Security taxable wage base ($118,500) plus 11% of each participant’s compensation in excess of the social security wage base, to the maximum amount allowed by law ($265,000). These contributions are made directly to Fidelity Investments, the fund manager and record keeper for the plan, and one of the nation’s largest mutual fund companies. You can elect how to allocate the contributions made by NCQA among a broad menu of Fidelity’s funds.
Employee Contribution Plan – 403 (b)
Participation is on a voluntary basis and provides an excellent means of supplementing retirement income. In this program you may contribute up to 100% of your eligible pay on a pretax basis, up to the annual IRS dollar limit of $18,000. There is no vesting with this program as NCQA makes no employer contribution.
NCQA provides a comprehensive health plan for its employees. As an NCQA employee you can choose between three high coverage medical plan options or you may opt out of medical coverage altogether. As a new employee you are eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following date of hire.
NCQA offers optional dental insurance through Cigna. Employees have a choice of a PPO or a HMO style plan. NCQA shares the cost of the dental plans with employees. Participation in either plan is voluntary. A new employee is eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following date of hire.
In addition to the vision benefit in our medical HMO plan, NCQA offers additional coverage through EyeMed. EyeMed is an optional insurance to help employees maintain the cost of routine eye care. A new employee is eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following date of hire.
