Benefits

Health and Well Being

Our employee benefits program is a significant part of the total compensation package. It has been designed with your financial and health care needs in mind. This program will help offset financial hardship in the event you become ill, disabled or die. The various programs provide options and can be tailored to meet your changing individual and family needs.

This summary is a brief overview of the benefits for which employees may be eligible.

Retirement Program

The NCQA retirement program provides income for you upon your retirement. This income is in addition to and independent of any other retirement benefits, such as Social Security and other personal provisions for retirement.

NCQA Employer Contribution Plan - 401 (A)

Under this plan, NCQA contributes 5.5% of your regular monthly salary up to the Social Security taxable wage base ($113,700) and 11% above the taxable wage base. These contributions are made directly to Fidelity Investments, the fund manager and record keeper for the plan, and one of the nation’s largest mutual fund companies. You can elect how to allocate the contributions made by NCQA among a broad menu of Fidelity’s funds.

Employee Contribution Plan – 403 (B)

Participation is on a voluntary basis and provides an excellent means of supplementing retirement income. In this program you may contribute up to the lesser of $17,500 of your annual income on a pre-tax basis (i.e., before federal, state and local taxes are withheld.) There is no vesting with this program as NCQA makes no employer contribution.

Health Insurance

NCQA provides a comprehensive health plan for its employees. As an NCQA employee you can choose between three medical plans: HMO, POS, PPO or you may opt out of medical coverage altogether. As a new employee you are eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following date of hire.

Dental Insurance

NCQA offers optional dental insurance through Cigna. Employees have a choice of a PPO or a HMO style plan. NCQA shares the cost of the dental plans with employees. Participation in either plan is voluntary. A new employee is eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following date of hire.

Vision Insurance

In addition to the vision benefit in our medical HMO plan, NCQA offers additional coverage through EyeMed. EyeMed is an optional insurance to help employees maintain the cost of routine eye care. A new employee is eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following date of hire.

Flexible Benefits

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows employees to set aside pre-tax earnings to pay for eligible medical and dependent care expenses, thus reducing your taxable pay and increasing your spendable income.

Basic Life Insurance

NCQA provides life insurance coverage through Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company and pays the entire premium for regular full-time employees. The coverage provided is in the amount of two times your annual base salary to a maximum of $300,000.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

In addition to the life insurance coverage described above, NCQA also provides, at no cost to you, accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

Business Travel Accident Insurance

All employees receive this insurance, when their ticket is purchased with the Diners Club International credit card, for business travel only.

NCQA provides Travel Accident insurance that pays up to $350,000 to an employee or beneficiary, in the event of his/her accidental death or dismemberment while on an authorized NCQA business trip.

Disability Insurance

Short Term and Long Term Disability

Should you have an accident or illness that causes an extended period of absence, Short Term Disability (STD) can help maintain a portion of your income. Approved STD follows a 14-day waiting period for sickness or accident or effective the first day of hospitalization and can extend up to 13 weeks. Long Term Disability (LTD) begins after 13 consecutive weeks of disability.

Paid Time Off

Paid Time-Off (PTO) is an all-purpose time-off policy for eligible employees to use for vacation, illness or injury, and personal business. It combines traditional vacation, personal, and sick leave plans into one flexible, paid time-off policy. Employees have the ability to manage this time to adequately cover all of their vacation, illness or injury, personal appointments, emergency, or other needs that require time away from work.

Worker’s Compensation

NCQA provides worker’s compensation insurance to you in the event you are injured while at work. The plan pays for medical bills relating to the injury and time lost from work after you have been unable to work for 3 days.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides assessments and referrals to help you and your family cope with a variety of personal or workplace problems.

Educational Assistance

Employees may receive reimbursement for tuition and other course related expenses/fees.

SmartBenefits®/Parking

All employees are eligible for SmartBenefits® and the policy allows employees have transit benefits deducted from their paycheck on a pretax basis and automatically loaded onto a registered SmarTrip® card. This benefit also allows employees to pay for certain monthly parking spaces on a pretax basis as well.

Domestic Partner Benefits

NCQA offers Domestic Partner coverage for same sex or opposite sex partner and their dependent(s).
