Research & Reports
NCQA's Research Department is responsible for expanding and enhancing the use of health plan-quality data. Research is conducted, in large part, in collaboration with academic research groups and with private and public organizations, and its aim is to advance NCQA’s mission and vision by providing valuable information to improve health care. Current areas of focus are described in NCQA’s Research Agenda.

NCQA research encompasses a number of internal projects, as well as a growing number of collaborations with academic institutions and private and government research groups.

Publications and Presentations

Reports Using HEDIS/CAHPS® Data

NCQA maintains several databases on health care quality for MCOs and physician groups. Databases are available for use by researchers. Several examples of past collaborations or use of NCQA data sources can be found on line.

Call for Applications

NCQA, supported by The California Endowment, announces its third annual Recognizing Innovation in Multicultural Health Care award program to publicly recognize health plans that have implemented measures to improve the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate services and reduce health care disparities.

Applications must be received by May 30, 2008.
