NCQA convened a one-day conference entitled Pay for Performance: A Critical Examination on December 1, 2006. Leading experts debated and discussed the effectiveness of Pay for Performance, the method of rewarding providers based on quality instead of quantity, as a means to improve the quality and affordability of health care.
