NCQA’s Recognition Software Certification, the first certification program for electronic health record (EHR) keeping systems of its kind, evaluates compliance and compatibility with the data collection and reporting requirements of the NCQA Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP).
Benefits of Becoming a Certified Vendor
Certifying your software will streamline participation in NCQA Recognition programs for thousands of physicians each year, helping many of them qualify for rewards paid through various pay-for-performance efforts nationwide. Certified vendors are entitled to market their EHR systems as “NCQA Certified Recognition Software for Diabetes Recognition Program reporting" and are featured on NCQA’s Web site.
The primary certification program testing consists of a set of customized test decks. To validate each vendor’s EHR software, unique sets of sample data or “test cases” are generated and processed against the DRP specifications for comprehensive Diabetes care. The test deck output is compared to the expected results to determine if the vendor software computed the measures correctly.
