Customized Reports
Generate custom reports in Quality Compass by selecting plans, measures, and benchmarks for up to 3 years of trended data. Results in table and graph format offer easy comparison of plans’ performance against competitors, benchmarks or averages.
This optional feature downloads custom-built reports as well as the complete All-Measure Download (based on years purchased) directly from the online tool into spreadsheets for enhanced analysis and research opportunities. Also, included with the Data Exporter are confidence intervals not found in Standard Editions of Quality Compass.
New for Quality Compass 2011
Quality Compass: Medicare—Scheduled for October Release
This year, NCQA will release the long-awaited Medicare dataset to the Quality Compass suite of information products. Featuring clinical performance for hundreds of Medicare submissions in a web-based interface, the new Quality Compass: Medicare allows users to compare health plan performance and discover areas for quality improvement.
Licenses will include the latest HEDIS data published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, along with NCQA averages and percentiles. Quality Compass: Medicare is tentatively scheduled for release in late November and will be available in the Standard Edition (current year’s data) format, with the optional Data Exporter available.
Quality Compass: RRU + Quality Index (Commercial and Medicaid)
As health care costs continue to skyrocket, health plans, employers and consumers want to know: Are we getting the most return for our health care dollars? NCQA provides the answers with RRU + Quality Index, to be available in both commercial and Medicaid formats in 2011.
This fall, NCQA will offer RRU + Quality Index (Medicaid) to customers for the first time as a downloadable file, while an updated web-based version of RRU + Quality Index (Commercial) will be available for purchase. RRU + Quality Index incorporates Relative Resource Use (RRU) measures that capture the total resources used by health plans to treat patients with select chronic conditions and aligns their utilization with their HEDIS quality results. This dataset provides detailed information that allows for the comparison of plans based on both value and quality.
Measures focus on traditionally high-cost conditions:
- Asthma
- Cardiovascular conditions
- COPD
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
Populations captured in the resource use measures are risk adjusted for clinical category, presence of comorbidities, age and gender so that plans that serve an older or sicker population are not at a disadvantage when compared to other plans that serve younger and healthier populations.
Quality Compass: RRU + Quality Index (Commercial and Medicaid) is scheduled for release in late October 2011, and Commercial and Medicaid Quality Compass license users will receive complimentary access to the corresponding version of the RRU module.
Quality Compass Product Options
Quality Compass 2011 commercial, Medicaid and Medicare* licenses include the following product options:
- Current year’s data
- Trended Data – up to 3 years of trended data (Commercial and Medicaid only)
- Data Exporter – download custom reports
- Premier Edition – combines 3 years’ trended data and Data Exporter for a package discount (Commercial and Medicaid only)
*Quality Compass: Medicare will include current year’s data only for the 2011 edition, along with a Data Exporter option.
Quality Compass 2011: RRU + Quality Index products will include the current year’s data. RRU + Quality Index (Commercial) is offered in a web-based format with the option of adding the Data Exporter, while RRU + Quality Index (Medicaid) will be available as a downloadable file.
File 5
File 5 Commercial and Medicaid Licenses contain detailed Member Satisfaction Data using the HEDIS/CAHPS 4.0H Adult Survey. This blinded member-level data is collected using the HEDIS/CAHPS 4.0H Adult Survey. Organizations contract with NCQA-Certified Survey Vendors to administer surveys using HEDIS survey specifications, and to submit collected data to NCQA for calculation of HEDIS survey results.
NCQA survey programs employ various data validation and cleaning routines to ensure that only valid and appropriate data are used to calculate HEDIS survey results. The data included in File 5 represent cleaned, validated data sets that NCQA used to calculate HEDIS 2011 CAHPS 4.0H survey results.
File 5 will continue to be offered as a SAS® file and is ideal for research and analysis.
Data License
NCQA offers licenses for its health plan performance database, including accreditation results, HEDIS performance measures and member satisfaction results. These data files contain the most comprehensive set of measures of health plan quality available. Offered in various formats, the performance data license is designed for consultants and employers for use in self-built report cards and benefit communication tools.
