The American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) and NCQA launched the Heart/Stroke Recognition Program (HSRP) -- a national program that recognizes physicians and physician groups who provide high-quality cardiovascular or stroke care. The Heart/Stroke Program uses evidence-based clinical measures to evaluate physician performance. Physicians who successfully complete the program are highlighted in provider directories and gain local media attention recognizing their achievement. Health plans can benefit by supporting the Heart/Stroke Program as a quality initiative for their network physicians.
