Training Sessions
As part of NCQA’s ongoing outreach for the Special Needs Plan (SNP) evaluation program, NCQA will be conducting online trainings via WebEx to inform SNPs about the processes for submitting data through NCQA’s data collection systems and the content of the requirements. SNP trainings are free of charge, and we encourage all SNPs to participate. We will offer multiple sessions on each topic to accommodate all who are interested.
To register, select the sessions that you want to attend and click the links below. If you have attended an NCQA conference or ordered a publication, you may request your password using the forgotten password feature. If you are new to NCQA, kindly register in the eCommerce system.
Introduction to NCQA and HEDIS
NCQA is offering this training for organizations that are unfamiliar with NCQA and the SNP Assessment. This two-hour session provides an overview of NCQA and the components assessed in Phase III (2010) of the project.
The purpose of this training is to provide a foundation of knowledge for organizations new to NCQA and both components of the SNP Assessment prior to the other training sessions. If you have experience with NCQA or participated in the 2009 SNP assessment, you do not need to sign up for this training.
March 2nd, 1:00pm to 3:00pm (EST)
March 4th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm (EST)
March 9th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm (EST)
SNP Subset of HEDIS Measures
CMS requires SNPs with 30 or more members as of the CMS February 2009 Comprehensive Report to report data on a subset of HEDIS measures for each SNP benefit package. This training session focuses on the reporting guidelines and technical specifications for the subset of HEDIS measures required for SNPs.
Organizations are encouraged to review the applicable measures in HEDIS 2010, Volume 2 – Technical Specifications prior to the training session. HEDIS volumes can be purchased online at NCQA’s Web site (www.ncqa.org/publications).

March 17th, 3:00pm to 4:30pm (EST)
March 24th, 2:00pm to 3:30pm (EST)
Structure & Process Measures 1-3 (SNP 1-3)
NCQA will be using S&P measures to assess policies and procedures SNPs have in place to ensure quality of care for their members. These requirements address complex case management, member satisfaction and clinical quality improvements.
This training will review each of the S&P measures, the intent of each measure and the types of documentation plans can provide to demonstrate meeting the intent of each measure element.

April 8th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm (EST)
Structure & Process Measures 4-6 (SNP 4-6)
NCQA has updated and modified some of the requirements for SNP 4-6. These requirements address care transitions, Institutional SNPs’ Relationship with Facilities and the coordination of Medicare and Medicaid benefits and services.
This training will review each of the S&P measures, the revisions new for 2010, the intent of each measure and the types of documentation plans can provide to demonstrate meeting the intent of each measure element.

Interactive Data Submission System (IDSS)
NCQA will collect HEDIS data with its Interactive Data Submission System (IDSS). This training session provides participants with an overview of NCQA’s IDSS HEDIS data collection tool, how to accurately submit required HEDIS data, and how NCQA processes and analyzes the data.
If you have experience with NCQA HEDIS submissions or participated in the 2009 SNP assessment, you do not need to sign up for this training.
