The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), whose mission is to improve the quality of health care, is seeking a Health Care Analyst.
Job Description:
The Health Care Analyst will provide research and project management support for research and measures development. He or she will support the development and maintenance of performance measures for HEDIS and other NCQA products. Major responsibilities include compiling and assessing the evidence for performance measures related to populations and/or clinical conditions; compiling and assessing the state of science for various research projects; consulting with clinical and methodological experts; describing trends in data and communicating with internal and external customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This person will support measure development and research projects by researching and synthesizing information and pertinent data. This will include:
- Connducting literature searches for background information on the latest science, consensus statements and clinical evidence
- Summarizing numerical data from NCQA’s Quality Compass®, AHRQ, field trials, and other sources
- Forming and maintaining stakeholder advisory groups that inform measures development and other research projects
- Drafting measure work-ups and other materials for review by stakeholder advisory groups, including the Technical Advisory Group and Committee on Performance Measurement.
Moreover, this person will support the development of project deliverables. This will include:
- Drafting and editing project deliverables including reports for consumers, purchasers, regulators and technical users
- Ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
In addition, this person will:
- Draft internal communication (written and oral)
- Draft and help finalize external communications (written and oral)
- Assist in internal presentations
- Assist in responding to questions regarding HEDIS measures maintenance
- Assist with management of timelines
- Prepare written summaries of meetings
- Assist with note-taking during stakeholder advisory groups
- Assist with meeting scheduling and set-up
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of health care systems and health care policy. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree + 1-2 years post-baccalaureate experience
