Senior Health Care Analyst


The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), whose mission is to improve the quality of health care, is seeking a Senior Health Care Analyst.

Job Description:

The Senior Health Care Analyst will take a leadership role in project content and management. Major responsibilities include managing measure development activities and other research projects, consulting with experts in the field, and communicating with external and internal customers. The Senior Health Care Analyst will be responsible for establishing goals, prioritizing work and operationalizing input from expert panels as well as managing the development of materials to support the work of these expert panels. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

This person will manage and coordinate measure development and maintenance processes in assigned areas, including prioritization of measures and issues, assessment of measures, field testing, and development of specifications including the following:

  • Project management tasks (e.g. timelines, milestones, monitoring, status)
  • Convening expert advisory panels
  • Guiding preparation of supporting materials for expert advisory panels (e.g. evidence review summaries)
  • Prioritizing issues and propose recommendations
  • Coordinating with other measure development activities
  • Maintaining frequent and timely communications with funders (e.g., CMS, the Commonwealth Fund, AHRQ, etc.) 
  • Coordinating activities with outside experts and organizations
  • Writing/guiding preparation of summaries of activities for various audiences

Moreover, this person will manage and coordinate research project activities according to the scope of work for assigned projects.

In addition, this person will support NCQA’s Committee on Performance Measurement (CPM) and external workgroups or organizations involved in the process of new measure development and refinement by: 

  • Preparing written analyses of issues to CPM
  • Presenting recommendations to CPM
  • Providing expertise to other groups developing measures
Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of health care systems and health care policy. Knowledge of scientific, technical or policy issues in public health and medical services research.

Education:

Bachelors degree plus  4 - 6 years post-baccalaureate experience
