Congratulations to each of the 782 health plans that participated in this year’s America’s Best Health Insurance Plans rankings by NCQA and our partner U.S. News & World Report.
Every ranked health plan on this list has committed itself to being a transparent, accountable quality-focused organization. Today, more than 116 million Americans are enrolled in a health plan that reports HEDIS® data to us and allows that vital quality information to be shared with the public. This is an all-time high and represents a 127% increase since 2000. We should all applaud this commitment to helping consumers make more informed choices.
We have heard from you that these rankings are an important tool in advancing quality in your organizations and in your communities. We know from the hundreds of news releases and advertisements that are issued by health plans trumpeting their rankings that these efforts are valued by those plans, their members and purchasers.
As policymakers in Washington continue to fashion health care reform legislation, they couldn’t have a better example of how to change and improve care than the health plan leaders represented in this year’s America’s Best Health Insurance Plans. Bravo!
Sincerely,
Margaret E. O'Kane
