Karen Davis, President, The Commonwealth Fund - The Commonwealth Fund is a private foundation that promotes access, quality and efficiency in health care, particularly for society's most vulnerable. Through its own work and the work of its grantees, The Commonwealth Fund has helped spark health care innovations such as pay for performance, the Patient-Centered Medical Home and integrated care delivery systems.


Gov. Jim Douglas, (R-VT) - Governor Douglas has transformed health care in Vermont through his Blueprint for Health and more than 60 related reforms. The success expanding care, improving quality and containing costs are reasons the Blueprint for Health has helped shape the National Governors Association’s recommendations for national health care reform.
The Greater New Orleans Community Organizations, the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum and the Louisiana Public Health Institute are honored collectively for their collaboration in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to develop and implement a community-based care network focused on primary care and integrated behavioral health in New Orleans.
Peter Pronovost, MD, PhD, Johns Hopkins University - Dr. Pronovost is a noted leader in combating line infection, a common and often deadly complication in medical procedures. In recognition of his lifesaving work, Time magazine named him one of the world's most influential people in 2008. He is also the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant."

Gov. Edward Rendell, (D-PA) - Governor Rendell’s “Prescription for Pennsylvania” is a multi-pronged effort designed to improve the health care of all Pennsylvanians, make the health care system more efficient and contain costs. Pennsylvania has the most Patient-Centered Medical Home projects in the nation, a key indicator of health care innovation and an outcome of the Governor’s many reforms.
